Special thanks to Camarillo High Athletics for their donation of $3,932 to the Humane Society of Ventura County!

Student athletes volunteered their time in shifts collecting donations from attendees at Cavalia, the show in Camarillo. At the close of the show, the students dressed in team apparel posted at the exits with donation boxes. During the three nights of collecting, the students raised nearly $8,000.

The donations were split between the Children’s Services Auxiliary of Ventura County and the HSVC. The ceremonial checks were given to the two charities during a halftime presentation at a boys varsity basketball game Friday, January 19, 2018. “We are so fortunate to be the beneficiary of this donation and so proud of the student volunteers who made this happen,” said Greg Cooper, Director of Community Outreach for the HSVC.  “The money will go a long way in providing care for the animals who remain at the Shelter due to the Thomas Fire.”
