One of the most common misconceptions we come across at the Humane Society of Ventura county is in regards to our status as a private non-profit. We are often confused with large national organizations such as the Humane Society of the United States and the ASPCA. Many people are surprised to hear that we in fact have no affiliation to these large national organizations nor do we receive any financial support from the city, county, or state. That means that we rely 100 percent on the support of our community to keep our doors open! 

Besides caring for needy animals, the HSVC provides our community with resources and support programs such as adoption services, abuse & neglect investigations, Humane Education programs, Pet Therapy, and spay/neuter clinics. We can't continue to do any of this without your generous support.
