Success Stories - A Home for Frank

frank.adopt.jpg

We are so happy for our dear Frank who went home on Saturday after being at the shelter for 14 months! Frank first arrived at the shelter on April 8th of 2015 when he was only 1.5 years old. Frank moved into the adult cat room where he settled in nicely to wait for his forever home.

We were all surprised that it took so long for sweet Frank to go to his forever home. This handsome guy will be dearly missed by many but it's always so wonderful when our long term residents find their person!

Adult cats, on average, spend more time waiting at the shelter than other animals. It becomes even more of a challenge during the spring and early summer when kittens, who are usually the first to find homes, fill the shelters.

If you are considering adopting a cat or kitten stop by the shelter today! There are only 10 days left to take advantage of our June adoption special. Every June we have a “two for one” special on ALL our cats and kittens. If you are already considering adopting a cat this summer, why not think about taking home two! Adult cats and kittens require exercise, mental stimulation, and social interaction. By bringing home two cats you are helping to provide these necessities through companionship.  Having more than one gives them the opportunity to “be cats” by socializing and playing with each other; this means they are less likely to be destructive or engage in other problematic behavior.

You can view all of our available cats on our website:http://www.hsvc.org/adoptable_pets or call the shelter at 805-646-6505 for more information on our adoption process. Please help us find these loving felines their forever homes. If you do not see what you are looking for please check back regularly as we update our site every hour.
