Spay and Neuter Saves Lives!

Five Dollar Friday is a weekly opportunity for our supporters to get a behind the scenes look at the care that goes into each animal and see how your generous donations help animals in need!

Captain America was brought to the shelter when he was just two weeks old.

Nationwide, the month of February is recognized as "Spay and Neuter Awareness Month". Here at the Humane Society of Ventura County we encourage our community to practice responsible pet ownership by spaying and neutering their pets. Many shelters see an increase in litters of puppies and kittens during the spring and summer months. Spaying and Neutering is one of the most effective ways to keep unwanted litters from ending up in the shelter system.

Here at the Humane Society of Ventura County we depend entirely on our communities support for our organization to operate. YOU ARE IT. Making a donation to our spay and neuter clinic will help cover the cost of these life saving surgeries for the multitude of animals that not only come into our care but help provide low cost options for the public.

At our low cost clinic the average amount to spay or neuter a dog is $60, and $40 for a cat. As spring approaches we need your support to continue with this life saving program. It is our dream to be able to one day offer free or reduced spay and neuter options to anyone who may be experiencing financial hardship. In the meantime please consider making a donation to our spay and neuter program!

By donating to the HSVC, you'll be part of a community of people who are making a positive impact on the lives of animals in need in Ventura County.

Have a purrfect weekend and thanks for your support!
