As this year comes to a close, we look back on our achievements and are thankful for the support we received from the community. Each year the Humane Society of Ventura County continues to grow and expand its reach throughout the community. In 2015 our adoptions alone were up nearly 20 percent from the previous year with over 500 animals finding their forever homes. Over 1100 animals were spayed or neutered in our clinic including 164 free surgeries through our Pit Bull program. Every animal that found a home, received proper medical care, was given love and attention from our staff and volunteers; was made possible by your concern and generosity.
There are many other services provided by your local Humane Society as well. Our Humane Educator promotes the humane treatment of all animals as a free service to anyone who will have us! Our Humane Officers respond to calls of suspected animal abuse and neglect and this year had a hard earned victory in court. Our Pet Food Bank is here to support families who struggle to care for their pets. All the while the Shelter continues to provide a safe haven for animals as they await their new forever homes. We are here when they need us the most and we are here because of your generosity.
We know that this time of year many people are making their final end of year donations and we thank you for taking the Humane Society of Ventura County into consideration. As a private, non-profit, no-kill organization we do not receive any federal, state or local tax dollars to operate. We rely entirely on donations from people like you to continue to offer our many services. We truly appreciate your interest in helping us protect the multitudes of less-fortunate animals in our area. We could not rescue, house, feed, and care for animals in need without generous contributions from animal lovers like you!
