Rescue Horses Find a Home!

We are pleased to let our supporters know that two rescue horses who were rehabilitated at the Humane Society of Ventura County were adopted into a loving family last week!

Ten year old Sadie May was seized in the field by our Humane officers on September 17, 2014. Recently her previous owner was found guilty of animal neglect and after 19 months Sadie May became available for adoption. Amber Rose, a year old sorrel thoroughbred, was brought to the shelter on March 26th of last year by our Humane Officers. When she arrived she was extremely emaciated but had since gotten back up to a healthy weight.

These two lucky horses found their forever homes last week with a wonderful new family! They will be provided with a loving home alongside other rescue horses. Sadie May and Amber Rose will be part of a herd that has been lovingly cared for.

One of the things that makes the Humane Society of Ventura County so unique is its ability to house and rehabilitate neglected and abused horses and other livestock on its 4.4 acre property in Ojai. Humane Officers, whose headquarters are located at the shelter, are dedicated to getting these animals to a safe place and prepared for loving homes.
