Rancho Grande Owners Sponsor Ten Dog Adoptions

The HSVC would like to extend a huge thank you to Linda and Richard Murad of Rancho Grande for sponsoring ten dog adoptions in celebration of Clear the Shelters! The pair initially visited our shelter to meet Dahlia, a mini donkey currently available for adoption. While it wasn't a match with Dahlia, Linda and Richard still wanted to help the shelter in some way. They have a special place in their heart for dogs and decided to sponsor the adoptions of ten shelter dogs in need of homes. Our staff was blown away by their generosity!

Rancho Grande is a 200-acre preserve located in the backcountry of the Rose Valley Recreation Area (Ojai). Its one-of-a-kind property is surrounded by the mountains of the Los Padres National Forest. As avid animal lovers, Richard and Linda have created an oasis that is home to a variety of animals including local fish, turtles, alpacas, goats, lambs, chickens, horses, cows, parrots, pigs, and cats. They have a soft spot in their hearts for dogs and have several on the property they consider part of the family.

"Dogs are truly a gift. They bring unconditional love and joy to any home. They teach us how we can become better humans. Some of these guys need our help. There are dogs waiting at the shelter in Ojai to be given a chance and we wanted to help make that happen," said the couple when asked what inspired their generous donation. Thank you, Richard and Linda, for supporting HSVC and helping us make a difference!

If you are interested in adding a furry friend to your family, stop by the HSVC for a visit! The shelter is open Monday - Saturday from 10 am - 4:30 pm to visit with the dogs and we are located at 402 Bryant St. in Ojai. We are also offering a variety of adoption specials all August long in celebration of Clear the Shelters month. Plus, many of their adoptions have been sponsored thanks to Linda and Richard! There's no better time to welcome a new four-legged friend into your home!
