Pet of the Week - Helga

It seems to be the season for shepherds at the Humane Society of Ventura County. One year old Helga arrived at the shelter nearly two weeks ago and stands out with her beautiful markings and silky fur. Despite the symphony of sounds when you approach the kennels, Helga doesn't make a peep.

Helga sits at the front of her kennel waiting for a volunteer to take her out or a potential family to look her way. Though she has her basic manners down she is still a puppy and will need all the exercise and attention that young dogs of her size (54 lbs) require. We do not know how she is with cats but seems to pay no mind to other dogs. Helga will need to be in a home that makes her a part of the family. If you would like to see this gorgeous girl for yourself, stop by the shelter today and ask to see the beauty in kennel 12!

Included with every dog adoption will be the first DHLPP shot of the series, a rabies vaccine, a medical exam good for up to three days from participating veterinarians, implanting an identification microchip (registration extra), spay or neuter surgery if necessary as well as a collar, ID tag and a leash.

For dog adoptions, a yard check will be performed prior to adoption. In addition to adequate fencing and shelter, those wishing to adopt a pet must provide either proof of ownership of the residence or a rental agreement for that address indicating that pets are allowed.
