frankthecat.jpg

Spring is here and we all know what that means……KITTIES! There are many homeless cats on the prowl and we are often asked how to tell the difference between “feral” cats and “stray” cats in your neighborhood. Knowing how to tell the difference can help inform you how best to interact with a cat or what type of intervention would be in the cat’s best interest.

Twenty Six Cats Rescued in Ventura County

CAT_CASESM.jpg

Last Friday HSVC Humane Officers rescued 26 cats from a hoarding case in Ventura County. After receiving a tip from a concerned citizen the officers found the cats, including 10 kittens, living in unsanitary conditions. The cats were signed over to the officers in the field and all 26 were immediately taken to a veterinarian to receive medical attention. Afterwards they were transported to the Humane Society of Ventura County where they remain in our care. The cats are currently under observation and on medication to get them back in good health. The cats are doing well and we will keep you updated for when they will become available for adoption.
