On March 2nd, a female Labrador Retriever and German Shepherd mix was surrendered in the field to Humane Society of Ventura County Humane Officers. It soon became clear that Lexi was pregnant, and on April 11th went into labor. Lexi had a difficult time giving birth but soon she was the proud mother of two girls and one boy.

Nika, Nanook, and Neptune are doing well and alongside the care from their mother, they are receiving the proper love and socialization from staff. Besides being handled by humans at a young age, experiences such as baths and various environments, are key to them growing up healthy and happy.
