HSVC Birthday Bash/Open House 2020 Cancelled

On June 9th of this year, the Humane Society of Ventura County celebrates its 88th year of providing services to those in need throughout the county. Normally, we would honor everyone who has supported us with an Open House at our property in Ojai. Because we don’t know how long we all will be in isolation due to COVID-19, the HSVC has decided to cancel our largest annual event.

Although it pains us to make this decision, we have to prioritize our staffing and resources to take care of the animals under our care. It is uncertain how long we will be in isolation, and to successfully organize an event the size of our Open House takes months of planning.

Despite being unable to open our doors with a large extravaganza, we still welcome you with an open heart. The safety of you and your family (four-legged too!) is very important to us. We are hoping to plan something in person down the road and are looking for innovative ways to engage now through social media, our website, or other means. For now, we need to continue to run our behind-the-scenes operations with the limited resources at hand.

Please keep an eye out for mailings, future newsletters, our social media feeds, and updates on our website. Feel free to give us a call at 805-646-6505 with any questions.

From everyone at the Humane Society of Ventura County, we thank you for your continued support and wish you all a safe transition out of the eventual lifting of the fog that is COVID-19.
