Over the past year the Humane Society of Ventura County has been actively fundraising in order to rebuild our 35 year old kennels. While we get closer to our goal each day this monumental project will take time. Meanwhile the kennels that are currently holding our dogs need your help. The building we have now has 48 kennels and during the course of the last 35 years has suffered from regular wear and tear. While safe and secure for the animals and our guests there are many issues behind the scenes that need to be addressed. Most recently all 48 vents had to be replaced and in the coming weeks we will need to replace many of the gates and fencing in both our kennel and dog runs. 

The heath, safety, and welfare of the animals in our care is a top priority. These repairs are imperative to providing not only our animals but their caretakers with an optimal environment until their forever family comes along. Yesterday we received a quote of $10,388 for the work that needs to be done. While that number may seem overwhelming we are confident that we can raise the funds necessary to continue to give top notch service to our community and the animals who rely on us.
