Mimi needs your help! Sweet Mimi was signed over in the field to our Humane Officers along with another dog not long ago. When Mimi first arrived she was very frightened and it was clear that she would require medical care on two visible lumps on her underside. It was determined that the lumps are not tumors but instead two large hernias . This morning Mimi had a visit with Dr. Karen Moore, DVM and it was determined that the hernias would require extensive surgery to repair. 

This coming Thursday, Kennel Manager Angela Hanline will take Mimi to her first appointment at VetSurg in Ventura. In the past year, VetSurg has performed procedures on two dogs here at the shelter with wonderful results. While we do not yet know what the full amount of Mimi's operation will be, we are beginning to raise funds to ensure she can continue to get the best care available. 

Anyone who has met Mimi, a three year old Chihuahua mix, knows what a great girl she is. Mimi will make a wonderful companion and friend when the day comes and she is adopted into a loving home. We encourage anyone who would like to support the shelter by helping cover the cost of Mimi's medical care to make a donation to her fund. We are starting off with a goal of $2000 and anticipate it to increase from there as we learn more about what her surgery will entail. Please note that any funds raised that go beyond the cost of Mimi's care will roll over into a medical fund to provide medical care for future animals. Thank you for your consideration and support!
