Happy Tails Ryker!

Anyone who works or volunteers at an animal shelter will be all too familiar being asked how they can spend time at a shelter without wanting to take all the animals home. Well the truth is, many of the happy adoptions you see here at the Humane Society of Ventura County are in fact the result of a staff member or volunteer falling in love with an animal in our care.

That’s exactly how Brieanna, who is one of our kennel attendants, met Ryker, a 2 year old German Shepherd who was signed over in the field to our Humane officers. Ryker had beet at the shelter since the beginning of March and during that time the two of them became good friends. A few weeks ago Brieanna and her mom Carolyn decided to foster Ryker to give him a break from the shelter. But like mother like daughter, it wasn't long before they decided to adopt him for good! Congratulations to the happy family!
