Way to go Bernie! It's always a special day when a rescue horse gets adopted. This handsome fella had been in the care of the Humane Society of Ventura County since September 27, 2016 after he had been returned to the shelter along with 2 other horses. 

Many may recall, back in 2008, when the HSVC was part of a large scale horse rescue from a ranch in Ventura County. Over 35 horses were brought to the shelter to be rehabilitated in the hope of finding new homes. Bernie who was only one year old at the time was soon placed in a new home. However as with all animals adopted from the HSVC, we request that if at anytime the new family can no longer provide the proper care, or for any reason need to give up the animal that they bring them back to us, which was the case with Bernie.

We are incredibly grateful to our supporters who help us care for rescued horses until they find their loving homes. Thank you to everyone who has donated their time and money to help these innocent animals and to the kind people who adopted Bernie for making happy adoptions like this happen!
