Five Dollar Friday - Daisy & Duke

Like milk and cookies Daisy and Duke are meant to be enjoyed together. While they are all smiles now, this has not always been the case. A few weeks ago Daisy and Duke were brought to the Humane Society of Ventura County after being found wandering near Casitas Market in Casitas Springs. The two dogs were very frightened and confused by their new surroundings when they were first brought to the shelter for safekeeping. We put a call out to the community to help spread the word that these two were safe at the HSVC in the hopes that their owners would come looking for them. The two dogs waited patiently for their family to show up, but sadly that day never came.
The stray period for both dogs has since passed and these two are now available for adoption. A lot has changed since their arrival on July 20th. Both have since been spayed and neutered and properly groomed. They have made many friends at the shelter especially with our dedicated staff and volunteers. Both have transitioned from the scared pups they once were to the friendly lap dogs we see today. While these two Poodle mixes are friendly with everyone they meet it is clear that they truly belong together.
Daisy and Duke are just one example of the many animals we help on a daily basis who have found themselves lost and forgotten or even abandoned through no fault of their own. With your help we will continue to be a safe haven for these animals while they await their forever families.
