Five bucks can make all the difference for an animal in need. Before you start your weekend, won't you please consider making a small donation to support our spay and neuter program? It's easy, just click here!

Did you know the average female cat can have up to 8 kittens in just one litter and 2-3 litters per year while an un-neutered male cat can sire numbers that reach the thousands during their productive lifetime? Female cats will typically go into heat during the warmer months, and areas with warmer climates, such as Ventura County, will see litters being born year round.

Anyone who has visited the Humane Society of Ventura County will have noticed that we have kittens throughout the year, the majority of which were brought to the shelter for safekeeping by caring community members to be spayed and neutered and adopted into loving homes. Besides its proven life saving results, California state law mandates that all cats and dogs adopted from animal control agencies, society for the prevention of cruelty to animals, humane society shelters, and rescue groups must be spayed or neutered. This is where we need your help! The average cost to the HSVC to spay or neuter a cat or kitten is $40. We encourage anyone who would like to join us in our ongoing efforts to provide the best care to needy animals throughout the county to make a donation today!

The Humane Society of Ventura County is a compassionate care shelter and non-profit organization dedicated to the protection and adoption of homeless animals throughout Ventura County. By donating to the HSVC, you'll be part of a community of people who are making a positive impact on the lives of animals in need in Ventura County.

Have a purrfect weekend and thanks for your support!
