THIS SATURDAY AT LAKE CASITAS!

We are expecting a beautiful sunny 85 degrees at the lake this Saturday for our first Dog Jog! Friends of all ages are encouraged to pre-register for this Saturday's 5K walk/jog to benefit needy animals throughout Ventura County.

FRANK'S FOOD TRUCK will be at the finish line serving up a variety of vegetarian items as well your more traditional favorites and the one and only BLISS FROZEN YOGURT in Ojai will have her usual array of delicious flavors for you to enjoy! So make sure to bring a few bucks to support these two awesome family owned businesses!

We will also have live music by the MAIN STREET BAND and VICKIE EMANUELE, renowned medium, health intuitive, pet intuitive, energy healer, workshop facilitator, speaker and author. For over 15 years, Vickie has been helping thousands of people and pets with all aspects of their life experiences. Vickie uses all of her senses in her readings to interpret one's energy. Bring a photo of your pet, or just pop one up on your phone! She can read the person's or pet's energy simply by hearing a name or seeing a picture!

The first annual Dog Jog will be a fun event for people who love animals and want to support our local Humane Society. The idea started with three friends from Ojai who wanted to help make a difference in the lives of homeless animals in the area; Tera Pupa, Loree Pryce and Tonya Peralta wanted a fun way to bring people together and raise much needed funds for the local animal shelter. The Dog Jog is a 5k fun run/walk that will take place at Lake Casitas March 14, 2015. (Sign up at www.Active.com by January 15th to get a FREE t-shirt). There will be live music by Main Street Band, food trucks, and  HSVC will have both information and education booths on site.

The Humane Society of Ventura County (HSVC) is a nonprofit private organization that receives no government funding or funds from organizations such as HSUS or ASPCA. “We rely on donations from the public and fundraising efforts such as the ‘Dog Jog’ to keep our doors open” stated Shelter Director Jolene Hoffman. “We are all very excited about this event and how it will benefit the animals at HSVC.”
