Blake Finds His Forever Home!

After 338 days, we are thrilled to share that HSVC's longest canine resident Blake has finally found his forever home with Michelle and Berge! Now Indy, this handsome Husky could not be happier in his new home, and we could not be happier for him!

Blake began his journey at our shelter in late July of 2022 as part of a humane investigation. His friendly personality immediately captured the hearts of our staff and volunteers, but his high energy level often deterred potential adopters. Our staff and volunteers worked with Blake every day to help him learn his manners. In time, Blake was able to walk on a leash without pulling and learned his basic commands. He was even able to venture out into the community and attend an offsite adoption event (above, right). But he was still at the shelter!

Blake's future pawrents first laid eyes on the handsome Husky after a friend sent them a post about Blake on social media. The post detailed all the amazing things about Blake as well as how long the sweet pup had been patiently waiting for a home. Berge and Michelle drove almost two and a half hours to meet Blake and instantly fell in love. He went home with them as a foster-to-adopt dog and was officially adopted on July 3rd!

Since his adoption, Blake has been living it up in his new home. He loves to play with his new fur sibling, Shasta, and spends most of his time lounging around the house or exploring the backyard. His new pawrents even let him pick out his own toys at the pet store! This is truly a match made in heaven. Thank you, Michelle and Berge, for taking a chance on Blake and giving him the life he deserves!
