Loma Vista 2nd Graders Visit HSVC

By Angie Sagliani

Last year, Loma Vista Elementary from Ventura visited the shelter with 60 learners eager to see HSVC’s beautiful shelter in Ojai. This year we split up the 80 2nd graders into a 2-day field trip experience where the students learned more about the shelter and the animals. These field trips included a tour, animal interactions, and choice activities that involved themes from the Humane Education for Youth (HEY) school program.

Happy 3rd Birthday, Ophelia!

By Humane Society of Ventura County

Happy 3rd birthday to shelter pup, Ophelia! The gorgeous German Shepherd has grown up before our eyes after being born at the shelter in April of 2021. She spent the day being spoiled by our staff with special toys, treats, a birthday playdate, a pack walk, and more! We can't believe she's still at the shelter, but we made sure Ophelia felt extra loved on her big day. Help us make Ophelia's birthday wish come true and find her a forever home!
