Here at the Humane Society of Ventura County we never imagined the level of kindness and support that would be shown to us 24312873_10155160284041238_2087301900037762992_n.jpgamidst a disaster like the Thomas Fire. As a small nonprofit with a staff of a little more than 20 people the shelter was able to be at the forefront of animal rescue efforts throughout the county because of the tremendous support we received both locally and nationwide.

Your generosity made it possible for us to protect hundreds of animals that were displaced by the Thomas Fire. While many pets have gone home there are still nearly 150 animals in our care including those who already called the shelter home.

At this time the number one way for you to support our efforts is to make a monetary donation. It takes approximately $3,200 to operate our shelter for one regular day. During an emergency the costs can be as much as three times that. Per Day!

Many have asked where this money will go. As a private nonprofit 501c3 animal rescue organization we do not receive any funding from the city, county or state nor do we have an affiliation with the Humane Society of the United States or any national animal welfare organizations. ONE HUNDRED percent of your donations stay right here in Ventura County to benefit directly the animals in our community.

As the life blood of the Humane Society of Ventura County, our supporters have shown an unmatched level of commitment to our mission of: Promoting the health, safety, welfare, compassionate care and protection of all animals through education and community outreach programs. The numerous animals that are adopted each month, alone, show us our community cares about the welfare and future of animals in need.

In 2018, we are excited to bring even more people and animals together to enrich each other’s lives and we know you are too! kota.stray.jpgWe are humbly asking our supporters to include the Humane Society of Ventura County in their contributions this giving season. Thank you for considering this request for your support. We truly appreciate your love and concern for our shelter animals and the progressive community outreach services the Humane Society provides. Thank you for considering the Humane Society of Ventura County in your end-of-year giving and happy holidays to you all!
