The Humane Society of Ventura County is a compassionate care shelter and non-profit organization dedicated to the protection and adoption of animals in need throughout Ventura County.
The HSVC has been providing animal welfare services for Ventura County for 91 years. Each year, we celebrate our birthday to honor our hard work, dedication, and commitment to serving animals in need throughout our community. The HSVC is very excited to welcome Old Dawgs, New Tricks to the shelter to perform at this year's birthday bash celebration! The multi-format cover band has a collective experience that spans over 20 years playing R&B, Motown, and Classic Rock tunes. We're thrilled to have them celebrating with us! We hope you can join us in honoring our 91st birthday this Saturday, June 10th, at the shelter from 11 am - 2 pm. This FREE community event will feature food, a beer/wine garden, kids zone, a kitten kissing booth, free birthday cake, and more. After nearly three and a half years at the shelter, we are thrilled to share that Wendy Nova has found her forever home! She is living happily ever after at A Little Rescue. We couldn't be more excited for our longest shelter resident!
Like many shelters this time of year, the HSVC has been hit with an influx of adorable fur babies looking for forever homes. We want to help these cuties find new homes as soon as pawsible! We're offering an adoption special on all kittens under 6-months of age in honor of Adopt-A-Shelter-Cat month! Those interested can take home two kittens two for the price of one ($150) all June long. That's double the cuteness for half the price! Visiting hours for our kitten room are Monday - Saturday from 10 am - 5 pm. The HSVC is located at 402 Bryant St. in Ojai, CA. Included with all cat/kitten adoptions is the first FVRCP shot in the series, a leukemia test (if age allows), rabies vaccine (if age allows), a medical exam good for up to three days from participating veterinarians, deworming, implanting an identification microchip, registration of microchip, spay or neuter surgery if necessary as well as a safety collar, ID tag, and a cardboard carrier.
We're less than two weeks away from our 91st birthday bash weekend extravaganza! Many pet owners experience financial instability while caring for their beloved animals. HSVC lends a helping hand to those in need by offering free pet food through our many Pet Pantry programs. Greetings from Humane Education, Summer is just within reach! I can already imagine beautiful long summer days to enjoy with my family and with the community. Here at the Humane Society of Ventura County (HSVC) we are prepping for our Birthday Bash and celebrating the organization’s 91 years of service to the Ventura County community.
